About Tomahawk Tipis
All our tipis are available for weekends, bank holidays and weeklong camping trips. It is a fun and relaxing way to camp as a family or with a group of friends. Why not hire a tipi for a romantic weekend, to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or to simply take a relaxing break in beautiful countryside?
Tomahawk Tipis provide everything for a perfect camping experience in the Lake District. We make it easy for you! Each tipi is fully erected and prepared for your arrival. They are fitted with groundsheets and carpets and come fully furnished with beds, rugs and sheepskins. A gas burning stove and grill complete with cooking pots and utensils are provided. As well as plates, bowls, cups and cutlery, a lantern, ice box, washing up utensils and water carrier are all supplied.
All you will need to bring with you are your own personal items, sleeping bags, food and a sense of adventure!
Our Tipis
We have two sizes of tipi available. Our 14-foot tipis accommodate up to 3 people and the 18-foot tipis will sleep up to 6 people. Bookings are available all year round.
Our tipis are made in the UK, each hand crafted from 15oz Waterproof canvas perfect for use in the Lake District. They all come complete with a liner for extra comfort and a rain catcher so even the wettest of weather will not put a dampener on your camping trip!
Each tipi is constructed using the three-pole method, the remaining poles being laid on the structure to give the tipi its shape, all securely anchored to the ground. Finally the canvas is lifted onto the frame and laced together in the authentic way. Once the smoke flaps are in position and the tipi is pegged down it is now ready for your unique camping experience.

Our tipis may also be hired for private functions if availability allows. Such as garden parties, children's birthdays, naming ceremonies or perhaps a summer barbeque with friends? The list is endless!
